My high school years ended in 1982 at Andress High School in El Paso Tx when I humbly walked across the stage with diploma in had. During the final year of high school all I could do is visualize all the fun and excitement I would have when school was finally over for good. Shortly after school ended I had the bright idea of registering for college, what was I thinging? Well that didn't last very long, a year later I dropped out and had another bright idea, and that was to join the Army, now for real, what the hell was I thinking? not rationally obviously. This crazy idea actually became the best idea of my life, because it started me off on a path to find my passion and my lifes purpose. Shortly after finding out I met the requirement to be accepted in the military, I had to make a decision about what job to select. There wasn't a clue that came to my mind to what that job would be. My brother-inlaw was at that time serving in the military, so I reached out to him for his advice. It kinda went something like this: Hey Garry, on this list of jobs what job do you think I should pursue, well Corky if I were you I would take the cooking job, MAN ARE YOU CRAZY?!?!?! I'm not going in the Army to be a cook, why in the world would you suggest being a cook? Well that is one proffession that will always be around, because people will always have to eat, they eat in the military and they eat as civilians, you will always have a job. Well that was enough for me, so my journey with cooking, restaurants, leadership, entreprenuership and business began the day I joined the Army in 1984 as a Food Service Specialist/94 Bravo or spoon as my non cook counter parts named us, and that journey continues to this day.
